Justin Sampson

Chief Executive Officer

Justin has vast advertising experience in both the advertising and marketing industry. At only 28, Justin became the youngest member in management of Trilogy (a subsidary of the Jupiter Drawing Room), serving on their board.

In the last 8 years Justin has won 18 awards, including Raptor and Marketing Excellence Awards (the top awards for sponsorship excellence in South Africa). Other awards include the Chairman's awards and the Grand Prix, which are the highest recognition that one can achieve in the sponsorship market in South Africa. Justin boasts the most number of sponsorship awards won by an individual in South Africa.

Jaco Beukes

Chief Operating Officer

Armed with a wealth of experience, qualified Chartered Accountant Jaco Beukes joined SAIL in 2004. Jaco previously worked as a brand manager for Glasfit and spent 5 years working in England for various multinational financial institutions.

He returned to South Africa in 2004 and joined SAIL as an investment manager. In 2008 he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) of CIRCA and in 2009 he became COO of both CIRCA and Navitute, now called SAIL Rights Commercialisation (Pty) Ltd.

He possesses a unique combination of formal qualifications in both finance and HR, giving him a keen insight into the balance of both. He has served on the boards of eight major sports brands and has invaluable experience in understanding client expectations.

Michelle van Eyden

Executive Promoter

After qualifying Cum Laude with a BCOMM(HONS) in Marketing and Financial Management, Michelle began her working career in Vodacom's finance department in 1993. It was during her time at Vodacom that she was awarded the prestigious Vodacom CEO Award.

Michelle then moved on to become a founding member and shareholder of Vodacom Sport and Entertainment which later became SAIL. Her career highlights include working on the Laureus World Sports Awards, managing the Alfred Dunhill Championship as well as playing a major role in creating the Vodacom Durban July after 28 years of the event being known as the Rothmans July.

At SAIL, Michelle, with her passionate team, is responsible for creating, managing and commercialising a variety of different events owned by SAIL and on behalf of their clients such as Vodacom, Dunhill Ltd, L'Ormarins, BMW, Richemont, Investec and a host of others. In addition to this, there is a big focus on ensuring that SAIL retains its position as biggest promoter of golf tournaments in South Africa.

JABU MATHIBELA

Executive: Sales

Jabu has 11 years experience in the sports, entertainment and marketing industry. He adds a wealth of experience in sponsorship, strategic planning, new business development, mentorship and brand activation. Jabu has serviced many blue-chip corporate companies such as Absa Bank, Yellow Pages, Engen Petroleum, Coca Cola and Sasol, to name but a few. Jabu has extensive experience in the football market, having consulted to Mamelodi Sundowns, Moroka Swallows and Kaizer Chiefs.

Jabu cut his teeth in the sports industry with the Octagon group in 2008. He later joined Exp Sponsorship as a business director. There he was involved in strategic planning and client service management which later made him responsible for th Absa Client service role.

In September 2010, Jabu joined SAIL as a sponsorship specialist and has been elevated into the sales executive position. Jabu is a case study of a man who came from humble beginnings, his achievements are a reflection of pesonal commitment and a passion for the game.

MARC JURY

Executive: Sales

Marc has eight years of experience in the sports, sponsorship and media industries. His passion for the sponsorship industry has allowed him to work extensively across South Africa, Europe and the Middle East. After a successful few years overseas, Marc returned to South Africa to head up IFM Sports Marketing Surveys South Africa.

Through the international IFM Sports Marketing Surveys network, Marc successfully introduced new measurement methodologies not yet seen in South Africa and worked to change the mindset of the South African sports industry towards the use of research intelligence.

Marc Joined SAIL at the beginning of 2011 – where he currently holds the Executive Position managing all Sales and Commercial Initiatives.

Brendan Cameron

Executive: Rental Services

Brendan was one of the founding members of CIRCA Events and Wanderers Events, (now SAIL Rights Commercialisation (Pty) Ltd) and has been instrumental in growing the business to global standards.

He has been involved in the management of the hospitality programmes and infrastructure for major events such as the A1 Grand Prix in South Africa, all cricket Tests Matches in South Africa, Cricket World Cups and One-Day Internationals in South Africa, the 1995 and 1999 Rugby World Cups and a variety of other major sporting events. 

Brendan  has an intimate knowledge of the hospitality industry borne through years of experience at every level of the industry. He also has a key understanding of the requirements of host cities and has firm relationships with the key stakeholders in these cities.
