SAIL assist in securing the Tournament of Hope
Leading sports company SAIL are delighted to announce a five year partnership with the Sunshine Tour and the International Federations of PGA Tours to host the Tournament of Hope.
Set to tee off in South Africa for the first time in 2013, the Tournament of Hope will take place from November 25 and culminate on December 1, - World AIDS Day. The tournament will be staged on similar dates in future years.
The Tournament of Hope gives SAIL the opportunity to host one of the leading golf tournaments in the world. Serving as an amazing opportunity to showcase South Africa, the tournament will be broadcast to over 98 countries worldwide as well as bring awareness to HIV/ AIDS prevention and treatment in Africa. It will be the biggest golf tournament to be hosted by South Africa since the Presidents Cup, with 70 of the world’s top professional golfers on our own doorstep.
“The starting point of the process was to secure the sanction of the International Federations of PGA Tours through the Sunshine Tour. We can now enter into discussions with various parties in regards to venues, sponsorships and suppliers, engaging with the various role players on how to make this tournament a success. With a 5 year deal in place and with the Sunshine Tour as our partners, this will allow us to grow the event year on year and deliver a tournament unrivalled within the golfing arena,” commented Justin Sampson, CEO of SAIL.
